Built-in features

The website uses semantic headings, descriptive links, a skip link, visible keyboard focus and native disclosure controls. The navigation and contact form work without animation. Text can be enlarged using browser controls and content is designed to reflow on smaller screens.

We use a consistent palette, avoid putting essential information inside photographs and provide alternative text for editorial images. Form errors are described in text, linked to the relevant field and do not rely on colour alone. Previously entered details are retained when a submission needs correcting.

Testing and limitations

The redesign is intended to follow WCAG 2.2 AA principles. This is a design aim, not a claim of independent certification or complete conformance. Automated checks and browser testing cannot identify every accessibility issue.

Editorial photographs do not contain information needed to understand or navigate the site. Where photographs are delivered by an external image provider, their availability depends on that provider. A text alternative is supplied if an image cannot load.

The contact form requires an essential session cookie. Telephone and email are alternative ways to contact us. Links to other websites, including HiveCheck, lead to services with their own accessibility arrangements.
